Sahitya Akademi, SMVDU organise lecture on people and books
The two-day conference culminated with a panel discussion on the present status of Dogri novel with reference to prominent Indian languages.
The Sahitya Akademi on Thursday gave a call for books from publishers and young Indian authors for the Yuva Puraskar 2018.
The applicant should be aged 35 or below on January 1, 2018.
Writers in any of the 24 languages recognised by the Akademi can submit their applications on the Sahitya Akademi website by August 16.

The books should be submitted along with the attested copy of the proof of date of birth, according to a statement from the Ministry of Culture.
Sahitya Akademi introduced the Yuva Puraskar in 2011 to encourage young writers writing in Indian languages.
The best book in the category nets a reward of Rs 50,000, a plaque and citation.
The languages recognised by the Akademi are: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Odiya, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Santhali, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
