At the Google Pixel event in San Francisco, the search giant also unveiled its “high performance chromebook” dubbed the Google Pixelbook convertible laptop alongside the launch of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
The Google PixelBook comes in Intel Core i5 and Core i7 SKUs. The Chrome OS-powered Google PixelBook is extremely lightweight with just 1kg and is Google’s slimmest laptop with 10mm thin body. It is also the first ever laptop to feature Google Assistant.
The new Pixelbook boasts of a 12.3-inch Quad-HD touchscreen. Google says it’s the first convertible laptop that feels natural to use. You can rotate the screen up to 360 degree, which means you can use the tent mode, tablet mode etc. with the notebook, but it’s not detachable like Microsoft’s SurfaceBook.

The Pixelbook supports up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB SSD along with Core i5 and Core i7 processor options. It offers ‘Instant Tethering’ feature which automatically connects with the Internet connection of Pixel smartphone in the absence of a Wi-Fi network.
Google Pixelbook offers 10-hour battery time, and uses USB Type-C charger. Google says that it can charge for up to 2 hours backup time in just 15 minutes.
For now, Google has only revealed the U.S. pricing for Pixelbook. There it starts at $999 (roughly Rs. 64,000). Google during the event said it will come in three SKUs going up to 16GB RAM with 512GB SSD.
Google also has a smart pen to go with Pixelbook, and it is priced at $99 (roughly Rs. 6,400).
The Google Pixelbook pre-order in U.S. have started already. The in-store sale will start from October 31.
