Premier League: Chelsea beat Wolves to move up to fourth
Chelsea ended their five-match winless streak in the Premier League with a 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge and moved up to fourth in the table.
Premier League side Leicester City were disappointed after FIFA rejected their appeal to register Portuguese midfielder Adrien Silva, an official statement said.
“We cannot hide our disappointment or that of the player at the short-term consequences of the decision,” the club stated.

The 28-year-old Silva joined the Foxes in a £22 million deal from Sporting Lisbon on 31 August, the final day of the summer transfer window.

However, due to a delay in completing the transfer (reportedly 14 seconds!), the Portuguese was denied permission to play in official matches till the transfer window reopens on 1 January, 2018.
“We maintain, and have made strong representations to FIFA’s Players’ Status Committee, that all parties involved in Adrien’s transfer fulfilled their obligations, consistent with FIFA regulations and within the required timeframe. The Club is reserving its position in relation to whether it will decide to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport,” the Foxes stated.
Silva, a Euro 2016 winner with Portugal, came up through the ranks at Sporting Lisbon and won the Taca de Portugal with the Leos twice (2008 and 2015) during his eight seasons with their senior side.
“The Club and its staff will continue to work with Adrien to hopefully minimise the impact that missing a substantial period of the season may have on the player, while continuing to prepare the squad for the games ahead,” the club added.
The Foxes are said to be considering an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) as they desperately seek to make the 28-year-old eligible to play in the English top-flight as soon as possible.
Leicester have made a poor start to the 2017-18 Premier League season as the 2015-16 champions are languishing in 17th place with just five points accumulated from seven matches.
