Pakistan’s women cricket captain Sana Mir slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board, questioning the board top brass for overlooking women cricketers’ concern.
In an e-mail addressed to as many as 26 players, Mir announced that she has refused to attend the national training session in protest against the team management.

Here is Mir’s e-mail to her teammates:
“I won’t be coming to the camp or travel with the team unless some crucial issues regarding women’s cricket are addressed, which I have communicated to the top Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management,” the 31-year-old from Abbottabad wrote.

Mir alleged that the PCB has demoralised players with their dreadful act of mismanagement. “I believe, this women’s wing management has compromised players’ respect, merit, and physical and mental well-being. I am not willing to work in this setup unless things change for the betterment of women’s cricket,” she said.
The off-spinner also mentioned her tussle with the board during Pakistan’s winless campaign at the ICC World Cup in July this year. “I couldn’t take this decision before as we were playing crucial tournaments like the Qualifiers and World Cup, for which I wanted to be with the team,” Mir added.
“If we had not qualified for the ICC Championship, we would have been out of top international cricket for the next two years. The New Zealand series is a part of the same Championship we qualified for in February,” she explained.
Earlier, former women’s team coach Sabih Azhar had called Mir ‘self-centred, egotistical and being wrapped up in oneself’ for her action in this regard.
Following the successful conclusion of the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Wednesday expressed the government’s desire to take traditional Indian sporting discipline to the world and said a collective effort would be required to get kho kho included in the Asian Games and the 2036 Olympics.
India skipper Niki Prasad said her team’s objective is to win the 2025 U19 Women’s T20 World Cup and successfully defend the title they won under Shafali Verma’s leadership in 2023.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that opener Saim Ayub will travel to London along with assistant coach Azhar Mahood to have his ankle fracture treated.
