Death of woman of protected Raji tribe raises concern in Uttarakhand
The police, however, denied receiving a complaint about the rape and murder of the 35-year-old woman.
Shocking statements of two victims allegedly raped by self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh — convicted of rape– have revealed how code words were used inside the Dera Sacha Sauda ashram to talk about rapes.
As per the horrific stories, the Dera chief used to call women inside the ‘baba ki gufa’ (baba’s cave) — a mirrored underground building in the middle of the 100 acre dera that was Ram Rahim Singh’s personal residence and then rape them.

‘Maafi’ (pardon) was the code word used among disciples to describe rapes, said a victim from Yamunanagar, Haryana.
The female disciples used to ask her if she was “granted maafi” yet but the survivor never understood until the day she was raped by Ram Rahim in August 1999, inside the cave.
The self-styled godman was found guilty of rape by a special CBI court on Friday leading to violent clashes between his supporters and security forces leading to the death of 31 people.
The violence engulfed parts of Haryana and Punjab and the worst affected area was Panchkula town in Haryana. The violence left over 250 people injured.
