“There was injury marks on their necks,” Mohali Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Alam Vijay Singh said.
Investigations are underway to ascertain the motive behind the murder, police said.

Shiromani Akali Dal president and former Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has expressed shock at Singh’s demise.
KJ Singh’s murder is the third instance of crime against journalists in one month.
Earlier in the month, 55-year-old senior journalist Gauri Lankesh was shot dead by unidentified assailants outside her residence in Bengaluru and last week, a television journalist from Tripura, Shantanu Bhowmik, was allegedly killed by Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) party cadres.
